What is e-waste?

Electronic Waste (e-waste) is obsolete electronic equipment such as computers, televisions, and cell phones that are being discarded. Consumers and businesses upgrade their technology more rapidly as new technology becomes obsolete much faster once purchased. Electronics that we use daily consist of toxic substances that can have a negative impact on human health and the environment if not handled and recycled responsibly.

Why should we keep electronics out of landfills?

If electronics are put into landfills, the toxic chemicals that are found in e-waste can seep into the ground. It is possible at this point for the toxic chemicals to enter the water stream causing the water to become harmful to human health.
